More great news for Haiti!!! Marriott International will be opening it's first hotel in Haiti in 2014. The $45 million (USD), 173 room hotel complex will be built in the Haute Turgeau section of Port-au-Prince. According to USATODAY. Marriott International announced Monday that in 2014, it will open its first-ever hotel in Haiti in Port-au-Prince. As we arrive at the two year anniversary of a most terrible event, let us remember those who perished by putting aside our differences and making a conscious decision to rebuild both physical structures and the invisible thread that ties all of humanity together. While we have different ideas and vantage points, there exist a subtle reality in which we are united in a bigger picture, for better or for worse. It is this truth that compels us to act when we are faced with incredible odds and strife. It is this truth that moves us to lend a hand to one another, forgetting the imaginary lines of society. It is this truth that causes one to feel hopeful, despite the seemingly long road to recovery. The world is full of amazing stories in which miraculous endings pleasantly surprise. Let us make sure we can add Haiti to those chronicles. Peace

According to defend.ht, the rapper known as little Wayne, will be in Haiti on February 4. It is reported that he will part of of a special concert to be held at Parc Historique de la Canne a Scure. The rapper, who is also known to spend a lot of time in Miami, performs world wide and is regarded as one of the top rappers in the world. It is not known if the other members of his record label will be present. Mr. Wayne Carter is also the president of his label Young Money.

Haitians still have much to do to recover from the 2010 earthquake, President Michel Martelly said Monday, and he conceded to having made political blunders.

His remarks came as he presented his first government report since taking office in May and took on the task of rebuilding from a disaster that officials say killed more than 300,000 people and flattened the capital and surrounding cities.

"We need to help (Haitians) build back better their communities, give them more support, bring them water, infrastructure, electricity, drainage and police," Martelly told his audience of lawmakers and senior officials. "And don't forget to give them the opportunity for them to gain revenue." ( con )

The singer, 30, gave birth to a baby girl in New York on Saturday, according to various outlets, including Good Morning America and her hometown paper, the Houston Chronicle, which reported that "baby and mom are doing just fine." GMA reports the superstar gave birth via C-section.
